I bought this desk and have been using it for about three weeks and I am very pleased. Here's my rundown:Pros:* Very sturdy (and square) thanks to the steel framework design.* Metal wood nuts (metal nuts that are embedded into the wood desktop) secure desktop to frame, better than IKEA-style cams or threading directly into particleboard. Also means the desk can be reliably disassembled and reassembled without damage.* Diagonal cross-bars are an actual structural feature, not just aesthetic.* Quite attractive for an open-frame desk.* Shelf side has 19.5" of vertical room, which was enough for my substantial gaming computer (see below about "shelf-side" and "no-shelf-side.")* The shelf on the shelf side has two possible heights, which is only vaguely referenced in the assembly instructions.* Seems to easily support the giant monitor arm I attached to it.* Table top finish seems durable enough and cleans easily.Cons:* Cannot be assembled with left and right sides swapped without drilling holes (yes I tried).* Seemingly thin tabletop (1cm particleboard).* Possibly confusing assembly instructions.Other potentially useful information:* The space beneath the right (non-shelf) side is: 9.5"W x 26.5"H x 23"D.* The space beneath the left (shelf) side is 9.5"W x 19.5"H x 23"D (with shelf in upper position)* If you're worried about shear (which is to say, how easy it is to push a four-cornered table directly sideways or forward-backward), it is *rock solid* because it has eight feet on the ground and is forced square by the embedded nuts in the tabletop and the diagonal crossmembers. I was astonished how little shear it has.FTR:* Have nothing to do with these people. I bought this desk just like you, and I happened to like it. Caveat emptor.I’m really happy with this desk and very glad I went with a 55 inch. It’s a deeper desk and long so I have much more room while having to use two monitors. Assembly was fine, but it doesn’t hurt to have a second set of hands when you are screwing things together. It would have been nice to get it in an expresso or walnut color, instead of teak. But overall, it’s great. You don’t even really miss having a drawer but there is plenty of space to install one. Just make sure the drawer will fit beneath the support bar. I bought one to install with brackets long enough to make the drawer still open nicely but I might just return it. Plenty of space to keep what I need on top of the desk.Got the desk all together and when installing the top piece I found the metal bracket had all 4 holes drilled in the wrong spot so I was only able to get only 6 screws into the top piece instead of 8 but its still fairly sturdy and don't want to take it down just to ship it out again being I have a new computer coming tomorrow but was dissatisfied when I found that out other than that the desk is still sturdy and looks nice once it's togetherPros:•• CheapCons:• One of the legs had something rattling inside that I couldn't shake out• One corner of the wooden table was chipped (luckily it was underneath, so not visible at the top)• The manual had typos on number of screws needed (the picture is correct but the text is wrong). I thought Iwouldn't have enough nuts & bolts until I continued forward.• There was a huge flaw with how they drilled the holes in the wooden table top. I was only able to align the outer 4 holes with the screw, but the inner 4 holes are positioned way too out to align with the holes of the legs that hold the table up.I read reviews of damaged desks in shipping and was worried when this came in. The box was bowed out in the middle because all the parts were not held in place in the package. All the metal frame parts had fallen to the bottom when the package was stood up outside my door. But surprisingly nothing was damaged including the wood.Bought this one because I have 2 computers, Dell t5600 workstation and custom atx midtower for gaming, and the shelves hold both 25lbs+ computers fine. The desk is very sturdy overall and doesn't move unless you want it to.Would have been 5 stars if not for the careless shipping, I can see how some of these arrive damaged. This desk is pretty nice, it takes to fingerprints and other stains very easily though. if you like to have a clean, good looking desk you're going to have to wipe this baby down quite a bit. Otherwise, I really like the space that it provides and the sturdiness of it. I know that some desks tend to rock back and forth sometimes but this desk hasn't caused me any trouble like that at all. The right side shelf was perfectly big enough to fit my mid tower atx build in and the left side I just put random crap on top of. I still have room to put things even after having a complete computer setup on it. I would say that the desk is worth the money and I would personally recommend it to someone that was looking for a dependable, and bang-for-buck desk.I'm a programmer and need a lot of desk space for monitors, ergonomic equipment, notes etc. This size desk really helps me fit everything I need without compromising leg space. It took me a little while to put together (pay attention to which way the holes on the bars should face!) and it might not last like a solid wood piece would, but considering how much cheaper it is it's definitely worth while. I was able to assemble it alone even though it suggests 2 people. There's no wobble and I'd hesitate to climb on it but I have no issue putting expensive monitors with it.This desk was easy to assemble, it's very sturdy. I have a large printer and with the size of this desk I still have lots of room, and it also looks good. All of the holes lined up perfectly and I wasn't missing any parts. Again, I think this was an excellent buy.
