This was one of the more expensive mechanically adjustable desks, but it has turned out to be worth it so far. I didn't have any issues assembling it myself, but it might be better to get some assistance if you don't build or repair things very often. The cross brace on the legs is probably what makes this unit so stable even at full height, but I'm still careful not to unbalance it with anything unusually heavy. The size is perfect for my space, but I have some additional shelves near it to expand onto. I have one large monitor attached securely to the table, but it is also on an adjustable stand because with the table at the right height for my keyboard, the monitor isn't high enough. Although it was easy to manually adjust the desk height up or down, I don't change it much because I only stand at the desk. I really prefer manual adjustment for reliability, and I'm happy with this desk.
